ANTIQUE METAL PUZZLES
FOR THE PUZZLE COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST

These are really old metal puzzles probably described in Hoffmann’s Puzzles Old and New. There are five different puzzles and one duplicate. These are usually found at antique fairs and snapped up as soon as they are on offer. £60 plus postage.

KALEIDOSCOPIC COINS BY EDDIE GIBSON
FOR SUPREME MAGIC

This is a copper/silver effect using a red oriental coin, a black oriental coin and an older 10p coin (not in use nowadays).  Nicely routined and something to learn as winter draws in and it is too cold to get down to the magic club.   £20 plus postage.

CHARLES GAUCCI’S SPECIAL RING GIMMICK

This effect is not complete with instructions but anyone who is familiar with Charles Gaucci’s divination effects  will know exactly what it is and how to use it.  I know what it is roughly but certainly do not wish to expose the effect.   It is used to divine in which hand a spectator is holding a coin or similar size object.  £35 plus postage.

THE LEGENDARY - NEMO SIX BY BASIL HORWITZ

AND KEN BROOKE

Ken Brooke produced just a handful of this effect which was created by my old friend Basil Horwitz.  Basil fooled Ken with the effect and Ken persuaded Basil to let him release it.   This effect is legendary and very rare and for years I have wanted to see it.

The effect comes with detailed instructions for the handling by Ken Brooke and is not complete.  What is missing is a purse and a magnetic quarter dollar.   As far as I am concerned this does not really affect things at all.   A similar purse can easily be obtained as can a magnetic quarter dollar.   A genuine half dollar is placed in a small metal container, the lid is placed on despite this the magician can always tell whether the coin has its tails side or head side uppermost.  It always works and I just can not quite understand how it works.  It is amazing.

This effect is incredibly expensive because it cost me a great deal to buy and because it is so rare.  Although I have often asked around if anyone had this effect, I was not able to locate anyone at all who owned Nemo Six or even knew much about it.  Basil Horwitz told me about it but not how it worked.   Ken’s instructions are, as always, absolutely spot on and cover every single detail and move required.

Nemo Six by Basil Horwitz produced by Ken Brooke is priced at £125 post free

 THE WANDMAN WONDER HANDKERCHIEF CASE

This must date back to the 1930’s I would think.  A red silk is placed in the brass tube and the lid placed back on again.  When the tube is opened the silk has changed colour.  This is a precision made craftsman-created collectors item that is a one of a kind.  Complete with instructions.  Price £45 plus postage.

BOB OSTIN’S BEAM SHOT FROM KEN BROOKE

This now classic effect comes complete with the very special pack of cards originally supplied.  The torch has a note in the box it comes in saying that the batteries leaked and it needs to have the contacts cleaning up before use.   I have looked and that seems to be a relatively easy task.   Ken Brooke’s instructions are comprehensive and if the torch didn’t need work on it the price of this would be at least double.   Price is £15 plus postage.

BILL TUBE FROM THE UNIQUE MAGIC STUDIO LONDON

Nice brass bill tube complete with padlock and keys but not with instructions.  If routines are required they can be found in the close up series of books by Lewis Ganson.   £45.00 plus postage.

ROBERT HARBIN’S RADIO PRODUCTION FROM A NEWSPAPER

I believe this is described in the famous Harbin Book but I am not certain.  The radio folds flat and unfolds when produced from inside a newspaper.  No instructions.  Again something for the collector.  £55.00 plus postage.

KOZUCH’S SIXTH SENSE BOX FROM ARGENTINA

The magician opens a box and places five little Buddha figures inside the box.  He turns his head away completely and invites members of the audience to remove Buddhas from the box.  At the end of the effect he reveals which member of the audience has taken which colour Buddha.   I have no idea what this effect sold for originally but it is worth what I am asking for sure.  It is quite heavy and postage will be expensive.  Price £35 plus postage.

ALAN WONG’S DREAM LOCK

This is brand new and completely unused.  It normally sells for £75. A borrowed ring is locked on a 4 digit combination brass lock, the dials are mixed by the magician and the spectator can hold on to the lock while the dials are mixed and spectator can test a few times that the lock cannot be opened. Spectator thinks of any 4 digit number and puts the numbers on the lock herself.  This proves to be the secret code that opens the lock! Spectator retrieves her ring from the lock in the end. There is no need to force any numbers such as someone's year of birth, anniversary or birthday.      Price £50 plus postage.
