23 EFFECTS FROM JERRY SADOWITZ

Despite the somewhat strange title, the effects are  well up to the standard of Jerry's previous offerings in Alternative Card Magic and Contemporary Card Magic.  This was Jerry's first solo book and it covers a wide variety of effects with the pasteboards. 

The material in not for beginners but the average cardician will not have trouble mastering the majority of the effects in the book.  One of the most popular effects from Alternative Card Magic was called COME TOGETHER and Jerry has now included a second version of the effect.   Considering the amount of variations that the first version spawned this will no doubt have a similar effect on the card community. 

WHY NOT will also breed variations.  I can say this with confidence because I have already worked out several handlings myself.  'THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO THE OTHER FELLA is a simple, two phase assembly; the kicker being that the cards assemble in your breast pocket.  Easy to do but unusual.  

PRONE TO LIVE DANGEROUSLY is one of the best sucker card effects possible with cards and well worth doing.  The Elmsley technique described in MONKEY FEATHERS is still largely unknown but enables you to have great versatility with add-on moves.   

Jerry frequently uses moves that the rest of us have forgotten.  For instance, HARDMAN makes use of a little used sleight from 'Expert Card Technique' which Jerry performs to perfection.  Hopefully others will follow his example and study the various moves to which he refers throughout his work.  An excellent sample of the type of card magic that the Scots magicians make their speciality.  (David Britland).
