On the
Shoulders of Giants
Roger Crosthwaite

Card
magic with video performances on a 3-Hour DVD.
On the Shoulders of
Giants is a book/DVD package by Roger Crosthwaite dealing with card
technique. In his introduction Jack Skertchly describes Roger as a world
authority on card magic in the Marlo tradition who combines diabolical
subtlety with immense technical skill. He also has the ability to
demonstrate and explain routines and moves clearly, pointing out the
finer points of handling and presentation which are the mark of a true
magical artist.
The routines are conceived as a tribute to Harry Houdini and are centred
on three aspects of his performing persona: the mindreader, the gambler,
and the magician. The three Video CDs contain around three hours of
material -- demonstrations of effects with explanations and invaluable
discussions on technique. The section on the Bottom Deal alone includes
material never before revealed on video.
The accompanying 54-page book builds on these themes and offers further
related effects. There is an 'Encore' section with contributions from
Allan Ackerman, Peter Duffie, Bob Farmer, Dan Harlan and Ed Marlo, as
well as some additional material from Roger.
To sum up, On the Shoulders of Giants is a unique package with includes
a wealth of fine material for anyone who is serious about their card
magic.
Spiral Bound with a
3-Hour DVD included.
