You use 6 playing cards which represent the six
sides of a magic electronic die. Adding the Joker which represents the
battery, a mystery occurs.
Remove: AD - 2S - 3D - 4H - 5D - 6S and a Joker (or a Jack).
The six cards are in order with the Ace on the
face. Joker lies on table.
WORKING
1. Explain that this represents a new-fangled
six-sided electronic die - the difference being that each side is a
playing card with a value and a suit. The other difference being that
this is a die that is never cast.
The Joker is the battery which works the electronic
die.
2. Hold packet for Overhand Shuffle and run 2 and throw balance on top
- run 2, throw on top - run 2 and throw on top. Order is now:
2-A-4-3-6-5 (2 on face).
3. Fan packet and ask the spectator to think of any card, then give
him the packet face down. Pick up the Joker and drop him face up on
top saying that the battery is now installed.
4. Thinking of his card, he COUNTS his value to the bottom - then
SPELLS the suit (plural), then flips the top card face up. He repeats
this until only one remains face down. It's his card.
