Unfaked Book Test

This is an unbelievable book test. Just imagine taking a modern book; perhaps a best seller in the bookshops right now. The book is genuine and is completely unfaked in any way. You can even ask a member of the audience or perhaps someone on a radio show that you will talking to, to bring along a copy of the Da Vinci Code or whatever you choose to use.

You have the book examined and you ask a member of the audience to tell you how many pages there are in the book. They might say that there are 216 pages in the book. You then ask them to give you a number between 1 ands 216. Whatever number is offered to you, you tell them that the number will be used to select the page, the line on the page and the word on the actual line.

This is all you have to do and you will be able to tell them the line and the meaning of the line.

Some simple memory work is required before you start the effect and once you have it all in your mind you will be able to perform one of the most baffling magic tricks ever. On the first page of the full colour booklet which has also been reproduced in this advert you will see my introduction to this effect. This is a brilliant effect and if you want to achieve a miracle you will need to spend a little time indulging in some memory work. It is all incredibly easy and when I decided to perform this effect in front of an audience consisting of two university professors, the director of the Edinburgh Festival, a famous poet and a leading portrait painter I took off two hours before the performance to learn a couple of things. The effect on my highly intellectual audience was one of stunned silence. For what seemed to be about five minutes there seemed to be a stunned silence. Every single person to witness the effect was completely blown away.

i spent two hours with my memory work task before the performance but that was just not for that performance but for the future and for every time I perform the effect.. You do your memory work once and thereafter without any further work you can perform this amazing effect over and over again.

I rate this as one of the four best effects that I have ever performed. They are all book tests and they are all brilliant. The book test by David Hoy which uses two unfeked books freely chosen, the MasterKey by Terri Rogers and the classic Chan Canasta book test as described in Vol. One of David Britland's masterful book on Chan Canasta. Val came up with a brilliant idea and put it into a simple booklet. I have edited and updated the booklet and have spared no expense to make it look absolutely stunning. Today is a great day. Val would be proud of me and of the book and I am grateful to Val for allowing me to release his unbelievable effect.

Val originally released this as a rather tacky and badly designed photocopied booklet. I have gone to town on this production. It is in full colour throughout the booklet and has been sensationally designed by my close friend Paul Griffin.
